Located on the south-west coast of Turkey, where the crystal clear Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean, Marmaris is one of the world`s largest natural harbours, attracting families and couples alike. The temperature in the winter can range between 15°-23° and during the summer a wonderful 28°-35°, perfect for sunbathing and cooling off in the sea.
The long thin stretch of Uzan Yali Beach consists of dark volcanic sand and shingle, backed by a good variety of restaurants, bars and cafes, but to get a real feel of Marmaris you must visit the Old Quarter, a labyrinth of narrow streets full of traditional Turkish bars, shops, stalls and original houses. There are loads of eating establishments in Marmaris, serving everything from exquisite local dishes to international cuisine and fast food.
