The surrounding area of Dalyan is stunning, with it`s natural beauty conserved, due partly to the fact that nearby Iztuzu beach is one of the worlds few breeding grounds for Loggerhead turtles. This resort lies on the winding Dalyan River which flows between Lake Koycegiz and the Mediterranean Sea, near the ancient ruins of Caunos.
The beach itself is a fantastic 5km`s of golden sand and can be reached either by catching a dolmus bus, taking 15 minutes to reach, or a spectacular boat trip which takes 40 minutes. In Dalyan you can find shops and boutiques for the latest designer gear, as well as the local shops and Saturday markets for good cheap souvenirs, such as arts, crafts, rugs and leather goods. Restaurants here in Dalyan offer all kinds of exquisite local cuisine, from meze platters and fried aubergine to succulent seafood, such as sea bass and blue crab. Turkish nights are popular in Dalyan, with traditional dancing, local music and belly dancing in the clubs and bars.
