One of the most picturesque resorts along the south coast, Kalkan offers a wonderful harbour front, modern hotels and an abundance of great restaurants to choose from. The cobbled streets lined with cafes and shops wind down to the seafront, where you will find the small Kalkan beach. If you are looking for larger beaches then the amazing Patara Beach, recently voted one of the best in the world, is 10 miles to the west and can be reached by, bus, taxi or the local dolmus service.
There is a wide selection of shops and boutiques, as well as the excellent bazaar where you can practice your bartering skills to take home some great cheap souvenirs.
In the evening why not wander around the centre and try the exquisite cuisine in one of the rooftop restaurants, delightful local dishes or international foods to suit all tastes and then move onto the bars to dance the night away or watch the sun going down with a cocktail, ice cold beer or a few rakis.
Within a 2 hour radius of Kalkan there are over 25 historical sites to explore, including the famous Iztuzu Beach which is the breeding ground for the endangered loggerhead turtles.
