Divided into two spectacular bays, on the southern Bodrum peninsula of Turkey`s south-west Aegean coast, is the resort of Bodrum itself. It is split in two by the 15th century, spectacular, St Peter`s Castle which is just one of the incredible historical sites to visit while on holiday in Bodrum.
The main beach is in Bardaci Bay, just over a mile from the centre of Bodrum, whilst there are plenty of other beaches nearby, including Bagla, Turgetries and a favourite with holiday makers, The Bay of Bitez. The temperature in Bodrum can range between 14°-18° in winter and 25°-35° during the summer months.
There are hotels here to suit all tastes, from family orientated ones with kids clubs and live shows, to ones catering for the young and lively crowd with their own bars and nightclubs. When it comes to eating out in Bodrum you will find yourself spoilt for choice with all kinds of international cuisine available as well as exquisite local Aegean dishes.
Getting around Bodrum is easy as the resort itself is very compact so you can explore most of it on foot. The dolmus bus service is very cheap and reliable to jump on and off around the centre or even down to the beach and back.
