Skanes is a suburb of Monastir on the east coast of Tunisia and has a beautiful, fine, white sandy beach lined with a stretch of wonderful hotels, set in fantastic gardens. It is perfect for those holidaymakers looking for a relaxing vacation and long sandy beaches.
The hotels in Skanes are connected to the tourist areas of Monastir via the road train and plenty of cheap taxis, allowing you to discover the museums, mosques, markets and marina. Skanes itself has a modern shopping centre for all of those souvenirs to take home and the local medina is great to haggle over the cheap bargains, including carpets, pottery, lamp shades, silks and much more.
