Located right on the border of Portugal and Spain, Isla Canela sits on the Costa de la Luz, just inside Spain, is an island, connected to the mainland via a bridge over the River Guadiana, boasting many sandy beaches with a backdrop of sand dunes and pine trees. The weather in Isla Canela can reach the twenties out of season and into the thirties during the summer months.
There are over 4 miles of superb beaches in Isla Canela, with plenty of water sports available for the more energetic holiday makers, as well as various boat trips from the harbour. A good selection of bars and restaurants in Isla Canela serve local and international cuisine, as well as delicious fresh fish dishes, while the marina is home to a supermarket and shops for those holiday essentials. Evenings are relaxed and friendly in Isla Canela, as they are over the bridge in the Andalucian village of Ayamonte, where you can find some lovely tapas bars.
