Nerja is located on the coast, west of Malaga, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and boasting around 13km of sandy beaches and picturesque coves. Burriana Beach is the largest and is popular with couples and families, attracted to Nerja for it`s relaxed, friendly atmosphere, shallow sea and great activities.
The Nerja weather can range between 17-20° out of season and up to 32° during the summer months, perfect for lazing in the sun and cooling off in the clear sea. When it comes to eating there are many restaurants, bars and cafes in Nerja, specializing in delicious local cuisine, exquisite fish dishes and international food to suit all tastes. Dotted along the narrow streets you will find craft shops and boutiques, selling good, cheap holiday souvenirs, including jewellery, embroidery, pottery and leather wares. Although there are plenty of bars to choose from, nightlife is relatively low key in Nerja, with a friendly atmosphere on the streets, although there are a couple of discos if you are looking to party well into the night. The Caves of Nerja are spectacular, offering illuminated stalactites and stalagmites, with one of the largest caverns used for concerts.
