Many beaches and hidden coves are dotted along the coastline of Lagos, with Meia Praia the most popular, and Porto do Mos easily accessed. All of the beaches consist of fine golden sand and are sheltered by outcrops of cliffs and rock formations. When it comes to nightlife in Lagos you can choose from the vibrant and lively clubs, bars, discos and music venues that stay open until the early hours, or enjoy a relaxing evening in the bars and restaurants of the old town. All tastes are catered for in the eating establishments, from local cuisine and fresh fish dishes, to international meals, such as British, Indian, Thai, Chinese and Italian. Shopping in Lagos is excellent with fashion boutiques and chic shops, a good market and craft shops selling great cheap holiday souvenirs, such as jewellery, copperware, lace and pottery.
