On the east coast of the island, located between Rhodes Town and Lindos, kolymbia is a friendly, relaxed resort, popular with families and couples. The long avenue lined with eucalyptus trees has a good selection of restaurants, offering a range of delicious local cuisine as well as international dishes, including British and Italian foods.
During the winter the temperature can range from 15-21°, whilst in summer a wonderful 25-30°, perfect for sunbathing on the wonderful beach in the day and cooling off in the ice cold water. There are a number of bars and tavernas dotted throughout Kolymbia as well as a nightclub, yet if you are looking for a lively night out then just take a short taxi ride to Faliraki, where you will find the bars, nightclubs and discos stay open until dawn. Kolymbia is the perfect holiday base from where to explore the east coast of the island with a good local bus service and cheap taxis available.

Great Beaches
The main beach in Kolymbia is excellent for swimming and there is a lovely small cove just a short walk away. A trip to the beautiful Tsampika Beach is highly recommended whilst on holiday in Kolymbia. This long sandy Blue Flag beach gently slopes into the sea and is located in a bay with a monastery.
Fantastic Sight Seeing
From the jetty in Kolymbia you can take a boat trip to historical Rhodes Town or the beautiful Lindos. The local bus service is easily accessible to visit nearby resorts such as Afandou, with an immense beach and friendly atmosphere. 
Historical Excursions
Take a boat trip to the beautiful island of Symi, or visit the ancient sites of Ialyssos, Kamiros and Kalopetra Monastery. The walled ancient city of Rhodes Town is steeped in history and well worth seeing. |
