Six miles southwest of Rhodes Town is the resort of Ialyssos, sometimes known as Trianta, popular with windsurfers, from beginners to experts and a beach that stretches the length of the resort and on to Kremasti. The crystal clear sea is safe for swimming and is less than a 10 minute walk from Ialyssos itself.
Built on an ancient site, Ialyssos, has kept most of it`s traditional Greek atmosphere and is surrounded by citrus trees, hills and olive groves. The temperature off season can range between 15-20° and during the summer 26-30°, perfect holiday weather for lazing around, sunbathing and swimming. The restaurants in Ialyssos offer meals to suit all tastes, from exquisite local cuisine to international dishes, including great British food. A selection of bars in Ialyssos offer a relaxed vibe and if you wish to party through the evening then just jump into one of the cheap taxis and head off to nearby Rhodes Town. Although there are a few shops aimed towards tourists and locals in Ialyssos itself, head off to Rhodes Town or Lindos if you are looking for all the latest fashions. There are some excellent excursions and day trips to be enjoyed from the resort of Ialyssos.

Historical Excursions
The ancient site of Kamiros and the famous cross at Filerimos are always worth visiting. You can climb the arms of the cross and marvel at the incredible views of Rhodes. Take a bus or boat trip to Lindos to see the acropolis on top of the hill and Rhodes Town to visit the palace. |
