Situated on the north-east coast, Kos Town is a fantastic base from where to explore the whole of Kos Island whilst enjoying the buzzing atmosphere and great nightlife of the resort itself. The local bus service regularly departs to virtually anywhere on Kos. Families and couples alike choose to holiday in Kos Town, attracted to the many activities and amenities on offer.
The beach in Kos Town stretches to the south of the island and on the north side of the harbour you will find Lambi Beach, considered one of the best on the island. There are many different water sports to try your hand at during the day if you fancy a change from sunbathing and swimming. The temperature off season can vary between 15-21° and a wonderful 26-34° during the summer, and along the seafront and harbour area you will find plenty of tavernas and bars selling ice cold drinks.
Whilst on holiday in Kos Town you can sample some of the delightful, local Greek cuisine as well as international foods like Mexican, Chinese, Indian and good old British meals. There are also a number of fast food outlets so there really is something to suit everyone`s tastes.
In the evening Kos Town comes alive with over 200 bars, tavernas and discos, with the harbour Eksaria the liveliest, to keep you dancing through the night. Around the cobbled streets and small squares though, you can find quieter bars and tavernas to enjoy the atmosphere and chat with the locals.
If you enjoy shopping whilst on holiday, then Kos Town has a wide range for you to choose from, whether it`s the latest fashions, local handicrafts, or a souvenir to take home. Boat trips to nearby islands are available and there are many ancient sites to explore.
