Arenal, or El Arenal, is a lively resort based around the superb 5km long Playa de Palma beach, with it`s soft golden sand and shallow water making it popular with families, couples and groups. The Arenal weather can vary from 15-21° out of season and up to 33° during the summer months.
If lazing the day away on the beach, catching a few rays, isn`t your cup of tea then throw yourself into the many water sports on offer or wander round the narrow streets of Arenal, sampling the bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. When it comes to eating out in Arenal there are an abundance of options, from local Spanish cuisine and freshly caught fish dishes, to international meals, fast food outlets and British pubs advertising all day breakfasts and fish and chips. A handful of souvenir shops offer those cheap holiday gifts, but nearby C`an Pastilla has interesting markets and the City of Palma is easily accessible for fantastic shops and boutiques. Arenal nightlife is very popular with the 18-30 crowds, attracted to the many karaoke bars, live music venues, British pubs, discos, and the nightclubs which stay open until dawn.
